As the sport’s popularity has shot through the roof, stunt riding has gradually shifted from the streets to sporting arenas. Competitions, like the one that has taken me to the city of Pereira, have become commonplace throughout the country. Prize money is often at stake, but riders know better than to confide 100% in event organizers, who have robbed them of their winnings one too many times. Though many of them desperately need the cash, what is most important to them is creating a space to compete against each other and motivate themselves to be on top of the game.
