Footage a kangaroo swimming to safety after an Australian town flooded.

The video, filmed in Hamilton, Victoria earlier this week, shows the marsupial paddling away in an attempt to reach dry land.

"We spotted this kangaroo caught in floodwaters in our town," the filmer later wrote online.

"He struggled while caught in the current but managed to swim over to where we were and finally to safety."

"Amazingly strong swimmer and a very different view of a kangaroo in action in Australia," he continued.
