Obama says U.S. is prepared to lift Myanmar sanctions soon

President Barack Obama says the United States was prepared to lift sanctions on Myanmar "soon" and that democratic progress in the country was incomplete but on the right track.
"I indicated after consulting with Daw Suu that the United States is now prepared to lift sanctions that we have imposed for quite some time."
"Congratulations on the progress that has been made. It is not complete and I think Daw Suu is the first one to indicate that a lot of work remains to be done, but it's on the right track."
