The Kansas St Wildcats are headed to the west coast for their opener as they battle the Stanford Cardinals in an NCAA college football game set for Friday September 2nd.

Notes: Kansas St concluded play in the 2015 campaign with a mark of 6-7. They faced Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl where they suffered a 45-23 defeat. Bill Snyder is in his eighth year with the program since coming out of retirement. He has six starters returning on offense and seven to the defense. Quarterback Jessie Ertz is back for his senior junior campaign. Ertz was the starter in 2015 but was injured in his first game on his first play rushing for five yards.

Stanford finished up a successful 2015 season with a record of 12-2. They earned a trip to the Rose Bowl where the rushed Iowa 45-16. David Shaw is in his sixth year with the schools. Shaw will have five starters return on offense and six to the defense. With 2015 starting quarterback Kevin Hogan looking to make an NFL roster the team will start senior Ryan Burns under center. He has thrown just one pass in his college career. Junior Keller Chryst will see some action and was the favorite entering the summer quarterback competition. Heisman trophy candidate Christian McCaffrey is back for his junior campaign. He rushed for 2019 yards last year with eight touchdowns and 6 yards per carry average. McCaffrey is a threat in the passing game with 45 catches for 645 yards and five touchdowns.
