Italy’s fire brigade has released drone footage of damage caused in the town of Amatrice, near the epicentre of Wednesday’s earthquake.

The aerial video shows swathes of the area, voted last year as one of Italy’s most beautiful historic towns, flattened by the 6.2 magnitude quake.
