A Britney Spears biopic is heading to Lifetime

Lifetime has green-lit a 2-hour biopic of Britney Spears for early 2017, entitled 'Britney'.
The filmmakers have cast Natasha Bassett (Hail, Caesar!)
as the lead.
The biopic will tell the unauthorized tale of what Lifetime is calling the "tumultuous story" of Britney's rise to fame at a young age, her fall from grace and her eventual triumphant return to the spotlight.
