This week in DVB debate, the studio asks “ Does Aung San legacy inspire the new generations?”

General Aung San, who is called Bogyoke by the people, is the founding father of the country who was assassinated at the age of 32 in 1947. A student leader, national leader and independent fighter, Aung San, is a kind of leader that the country still wants.
For the independence movement, General Aung San founded the military which was well- respected by the people. Yet, the military he founded turned out its reputation into dictatorship since 1962 together with the coop.
Since then, the leadership is totalitarian by the military regime for decades and it makes it difficult for civilians to become a leader.
