Man pretends to try on gold necklace to steal it

Footage of a man pretending to try a gold necklace on in a store in China before stealing it and running away.

The video, filmed in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan province last Tuesday, shows the man suddenly sprinting away when the shop assistant gives him the jewellery to try on.

The saleswoman then leaps over the counter and chases him out of the shop.

Police eventually caught him and he is in custody ahead of a court appearance.
