Heinrich Schulz-Beuthen (1838-1915) was a German composer. At his time widely respected, his shadow vanished gradually as he eventually became more and more obscured by more innovative voices, yet he provided interesting examples of his genius. One of these is likely the first European symphonizing of Afro-American songs and dances which are presented here in full orchestral guise and not literally arranged but reimagined.
