NORTH TRURO, MASSACHUSETTS — Up to six sharks were recorded feeding on a whale carcass in Cape Cod Bay off North Truro, Massachusetts on Thursday.

The video was captured by Center for Coastal Studies. According to the agency, an 11-foot long female minke whale was spotted floating belly up in the area on Wednesday morning.

The carcass was reportedly in good condition until six great white sharks began feeding on it on Thursday. In the video, the carcass is seen missing its tongue and most of its muscles.

The carcass later washed up near Noons Landing in North Truro. Three beaches, Noons Landing, Beach Point and Cold Storage beaches were closed to swimmers as a result.
