Pence and Trump diverge on endorsement of Paul Ryan

Mike Pence differs from running mate Donald Trump when it comes to endorsing House Speaker Paul Ryan in his re-election fight. "I strongly support Paul Ryan, strongly endorse his re-election," Pence told Fox News. "He is a longtime friend. He's a strong conservative leader. I believe we need Paul Ryan in leadership in the Congress of the United States." Trump's VP pick would later go on to say the former "strongly encouraged" him to endorse Paul Ryan in next Tuesday's primary after the two spoke Wednesday morning. Trump originally told the Washington Post he was "not quite there yet" on endorsing Ryan.
