Mountaineer saved from the jaws of death in Uttarakhand

The blockbuster Hollywood thriller movie ‘Vertical Limit’ released in 2000 portrays a story of mountaineers who slips inside a crevice and witness death in front of eyes. The Mumbai mountaineer Jaishri Dumbre (33) also had similar experience when she slipped inside a crevice in a glacier in Uttarakhand.
It was two hour long rescue operation that saved the young mountaineer from the jaws of death. Jaishri was part of the 35 member group of Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) summit ascending towards ‘Draupadi Ka Danda’ mountain at a height of 18,600 feet.
