Megyn Kelly claims Roger Ailes sexually harassed her as well, Fox News boss set to quit - TomoNews

NEW YORK — It seems like the end is nigh for Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, who’s under investigation after former news host Gretchen Carlson filed a lawsuit against him early this month.

CNN reports that the lawsuit accused the 76-year-old of sexual harassment, prompting Rupert Murdoch and sons James and Lachlan — the three top executives at Fox News — to order a probe into the allegations.

According to two New York Magazine sources, the latest accusations that have come to light are from anchor Megyn Kelly, who says Ailes made unwanted sexual advances towards her a decade ago, when she was a young correspondent.

The network’s lawyers have reportedly given Ailes an ultimatum to resign by Aug. 1 or face being fired, New York Magazine reported. Kelly is seen as the future of Fox News and is too valuable to lose, especially with Bill O’Reilly considering retirement, writes New York Magazine.

With Kelly’s contract currently under negotiations, and head honcho Rupert Murdoch and sons eager to keep her, it may only be a matter of time before Ailes is removed from his position. For now, Fox’s statement on the issue is that it still under review and has yet to be resolved.
