Democratic Proposal For Opioids Treatment Rejected by Republicans
  • 8 years ago
On Wednesday, Republican lawmakers in Congress rejected Democratic amendments to provide almost $1 billion in funding for legislation proposed to fight America's opioid epidemic. The rejection could weaken Democratic support for legislation that may be up for a vote in the House of Representatives by Friday. Both the House and Senate passed versions of the legislation in the past few months. House and Senate Democratic lawmakers are now suppressing their support for the final version of the bill.
