This was through a study showing that combat trauma preceding the Iraq and Afghanistan wars is still responsible for many suicides. The anylysis was based on millions of records and is seen as the government's most complete examination of the issue to date. The study also finds that veterans are 21% more likely to take their own lives than other americans.
