Zika Is Spreading Fast!!!

The New York Times reports that some new studies suggest that the Zika virus may spread more frequently than just through sex. Women are also believed to be more vulnerable than men. The virus is transmitted in two ways: through mosquito bites and through unprotected sexual activity with an already infected individual. The virus has quickly spread throughout South America and has aready reached the United States. Zika causes microcephaly, a birth defect in which babies are born with abnormal heads. The virus has also been linked to a rare paralyzing condition. Government officials in infected areas are warning women to take precautions with their sexual partners and are urging them to wait to conceive.
