The leaders of North America confront a rising tide of economic protectionism and nationalism as they hold a summit Wednesday in theCanadian capital.
The huddle, colloquially known as the Three Amigos summit, is expected to focus on clean energy and climate change.
Mexican president, Enrique Pena Nieto, who has been on a state visit to Canada since Monday, is to sign on to the Canada-U.S. methane reduction deal announced when Trudeau visited Washington last March. Coming soon after the U.K.’s vote to leave the European Union last week, the summit faces increased pressure to showcase the stability of its own alliance.
