Deepika Padukone was previously approached for the song but had to drop out following date issues as Imitiaz Ali's Tamasha opposite Ranbir Kapoor flags off on July 9 in the south of France. Later, there was talk of Heropanti actress Kriti Sanon doing the song. But Nargis seems to have beaten everybody in the race.
