"THE FAULT IN OUR STARS" | Deepika Padukone & Varun Dhawan to Star in the Desi Remake

While rumours were doing rounds that Alia Bhatt might be cast in the desi remake of The Fault in Our Stars, we hear confirmed reports of Deepika Padukone being finalised as the female lead in the desi remake of the 2014 Hollywood movie.
ABCD 2 actor Varun Dhawan has been cast opposite Deepika Padukone. With this project, Varun will have two international remakes in his kitty, the second being The Intouchables‘ remake.
TFIOS is a story revolving around two young cancer-afflicted patients who meet at a cancer support group and fall in love. The film is based on a novel by the same name and has been a huge hit in the West.
Considering that the protagonists in the original were teenagers we were expecting a younger face like Alia to be cast in the remake. But looks like the makers have decided to cast Deepika who is sure to give a solid performance. Casting Varun as the male lead was an anticipated decision.
