Relationships can be tough, especially if one’s significant other is a heartless jerk, but the male jacana doesn’t let the stress get in the way of his parenting.

Relationships can be tough, especially if one’s significant other is a heartless jerk, but the male jacana doesn’t let the stress get in the way of his parenting, notes the Mother Nature Network.
The bird, often called a ‘lily trotter’ due to its ability to skip across lily pads in a way that makes it appear it’s walking on water, is typically the sole keeper of the nest.
According to Animal Planet, after laying eggs, the females of the species are known to take off in search of new partners.
If the lady birds do return to their offspring, it’s often for the purpose of destroying them.
Somehow, in the midst of all that drama, the dads are able to keep their wits about them.
They hold their focus on protecting the young, some of which may not even be their own, according to the Mother Nature Network.
