Dad of Stanford rapist pens controversial letter defending son

The lenient sentencing of a Stanford swimmer who was convicted of raping an unconscious woman has resulted in widespread public outrage, sure to be compounded by a controversial letter written by Brock Turner's father. "That is a steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action out of his 20 plus years of life,” Dan A. Turner wrote. Turner received only six months in jail and three years of probation after a judge expressed concern over the “severe impact” jail time could have on the 20-year-old.
