After watching his team collapse when they were up 3-1 in the Western Conference Finals, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant has a tough choice to make. He could sign a long-term contract in free agency, opt to take a shorter deal, or sign with a new team. Durant can make the most money by returning to Oklahoma City for one more year, then re-entering the free agency pool in the summer of 2017 when the salary cap increases once again. By waiting one more year to sign a long-term deal, Durant stands to make $8 million more in 2017-18.
