Deepika Padukone And Katrina Kaif Top Contenders For Mohit Suri's 'Half Girlfriend'?

We had earlier reported that Mohit Suri will be directing Half Girlfriend, a film based on Chetan Bhagat's eponymous novel, and now, we hear that the makers are planning to rope in either Deepika Padukone or Katrina Kaif to play the female lead in the movie. The film revolves around a Bhojpuri-speaking Bihari boy and his rich Delhi-based Half Girlfriend. Sources claim that since the girl comes from an elite background, both Kat and DeePee fit the bill however, DeePee has an edge over Kat as the protagonist is from Delhi and Kat has very international looks. We hear that if things won't work out with DeePee, Suri will then approach the Brit beauty for the Balaji flick. However, neither the actresses nor the makers have confirmed the reports.
