Bernie Sanders feeling the money 'bern' as fundraising slows
  • 8 years ago
Bernie Sanders’ campaign is running low on cash going into the closing stretch of the Democratic presidential primaries.
He finished April with $5.8 million on hand, after raising $26.9 million last month but spending $38.6 million as he continues to battle.
In total, Sanders has spent nearly $207 million this election cycle, averaging $40 million in spending a month.
Rival Hillary Clinton has spent $183 million and averaged $26 million in spending per month since January.
Sanders has seen his fundraising slow as the July 25 Democratic National Convention hovers.
The candidate has promised to stand strong until the end of the primaries on June 14.
