Creating a WiFi hotspot via Windows to connect any device? It’s possible with this week’s App of the Week, My WiFi Router. My WiFi Router is a free, easy to use app that lets you share your Windows internet connection with other devices. It’s really useful in situations where you find yourself without a wireless connection, like a hotel for example, when you don’t want to pay for Wi-Fi, but have access to an Ethernet cable. If you connect your laptop to the network, set up My Wi-Fi Router and you’ll be able to share the connection with your tablet or smartphone. You can even use it to extend the range of your own WiFi connection. Setup is super simple. Establish a name for the connection, define a password, and start sharing. You can connect other devices by searching for the network name and then using the password you created. You can hit "Stop" if you want to end the connection. My WiFi Router also gives you information about the type of source connection, the output, how to share, and how to make modifications. From the Status tab, you can check the IP, the MAC address, and see which device is connected to the network at all times. If you want to your Window devices into your own personal Wi-Fi hotspot and connect all your devices, check out My Wi-Fi Router.
