Vivaldi, the new browser from the creator of Opera - Softonic's App of the Week

An advanced browser designed to give users more options to surf the internet the way they want to, introducing ... Vivaldi. Vivaldi’s pedigree is not in question, as it comes from the former CEO of Opera, another popular browser. The Opera was a browser that built a fantastic community by listening and responding to users’ feedback and requests. However, in the opinion of one of its two founders, Jon von Tetzchner, Opera began to lose this sense of community, and so Vivaldi created. In an attempt to return to a community focus. Vivaldi has the best of Opera. Power, ease of use, elegant and clean design, and intelligent tools all designed with the user in mind. Speed Dial, a feature many Opera users will be familiar with, is also built in, this add links to your social networks, news, and all the pages you want to regular visit in to a single easy to access tab. Managing bookmarks, history, and cookies is also nice and easy – highlighting Vivaldi’s focus on customization. Even though it’s still only in preview, Vivaldi offers loads of options for you to edit it to suit your tastes. And the final version is promising even more, giving you the ability to move every element of the browser to the desired position, a feature also seen in Firefox. There will also be fully customizable mouse gestures and keyboard shortcuts to speed up your browsing experience. In addition to this, hitting Ctrl + Q, opens up an option similar to Mac Spotlight where you find the list commonly used browser functions including your history, bookmarks, settings, and Google search. To wrap up Vivaldi’s list of features to make your life easier there is a side bar that offers you access to a contact manager and an integrated notepad to store important information and access a folder manager. Plus, for you all of you multitaskers it offers simple, color-coded tab management, and page tiling. And if all that still isn’t enough, they are also working on built in email integration: which makes sense, as the browser is where most of us read our mail. With the ability to sync your settings across Mac, Linux and Windows devices running Vivaldi, this could be the new browser to take with you everywhere.
