The sequel to the most successful mobile game of all time. Introducing... Angry Birds 2. Angry Birds 2 is not a radical departure from previous editions of Angry Birds – but it does make some interesting tweaks to the familiar formula. Among these improvements are a new bird, improved animation, a new card system that allows you to choose the order in which order you use your avian ammunition, spells that unleash devastating attacks, a map screen to move between levels, huge boss fights, and a multiplayer arena mode. Many of these maybe small changes, but you will have to master all of them if you want to beat the game, and defeat opponents in the Arena. First, you will need a strategy. All of the birds now have one special skill, and knowing when to use them is vital. Blue birds destroy crystals, yellow ones rapidly accelerate and tear through wood, while the red birds have powerful momentum and the ability to push over towers with ease. Now you can select what order to use these in, working out which to use when can make all the difference. For example, fling in your red bird to knock down a defensive rock structure, then use the yellow one to rip through the now exposed wooden defenses behind it. So, always look at the level, see the weak points, and use your bird’s abilities accordingly. The other thing to keep in mind is that in Angry Birds 2 destroying the scenery doesn’t just get you closer to the converted 3 star medal, it also charges a card meter which, once full, will give you another bird to help you finish the level. So yes, now there is a point to being as destructive as possible. Don’t worry though, even if you don’t manage to earn an extra shot through skill you can always watch an advert for one. As you play you will also earn gems that will reward you with extra shots in a level. Do not use these early on. Instead save them for thing really get tricky – that will be when you really need the three extra shots they give you. Look around the level. New environmental elements can also help you blaze path of feathery fury through the world. Early on the most useful of these are the plants that suck in everything that falls near them then shoots them back out, frequently destroying anything that remains standing. It’s even possible to use the world to get unexpected ricochets to get even more from your shots. Careful use of the Angry Birds 2’s spells is also useful, with the rain duck able to help you take out large sprawling structures, while the frost helps take out talker, narrow constructions. It is also necessary to keep any eye on the games many challenges, as these give you extra prizes such as additional gems.
