Singer/songwriter from the California folkie scene of late 60s and early 70s with some hippie-psych and jazzy blends.
In the fall of 1966,with Penny Nichols toured Vietnam as a duo called Greasy Mountain Butterballs.
In 1970 Smith did record two albums for Richie Haven's Stormy Forest Label("Some songs i've saved" in 1970 and "Kathy Smith 2" in 1971).Kathy Smith also appeared at the Isle of Wight Festival where she was very well received before disappearing from the music scene.
On both Kathy Smith's albums you can hear play and sing artists such as Pamela Polland, Colin Walcott, Tony Levine, Jan Hammer, Artie Traum, Jeremy Steig and Jim Fielder.
