Pressure mounting on Bernie Sanders after Kentucky loss
  • 8 years ago
Bernie Sanders is still behind Hillary Clinton in the delegate count in the race for the White House and though he win in Oregon, not capturing Kentucky was a blow the Vermont senator could ill afford.
The confidence of supporters may be deflating as they attempt to unify the Democratic Party and halt front-runner Hillary Clinton's progress towards the party's nomination.
Despite walking away with a solid block of delegates, the outcome will have negligible impact on either candidate's path to the nomination, thanks to Democrats' proportional delegate allocation system.
But this doesn't mean Sanders has any intention of abandoning ship; Sanders' campaign still pledges to take their fight all the way the Democratic National Convention, and the chaos at the Nevada State Democratic Convention this weekend gave the party a taste of what could come.
