Finance minister: Reforms will curb Brazil unemployment

Brazil needs urgent economic reforms to avoid unemployment from reaching 14 percent, the new finance minister of interim President Michel Temer said Tuesday in naming the new central bank chief. The country’s official jobless rate reached 10.9 percent in the first quarter of this year amid an economic slump and political crisis that saw President Dilma Rousseff suspended pending an impeachment trial last week.
