Volunteers Attempt Rescue of Beached Whale on Spanish Beach

Volunteers flocked to Punta De Moral beach in southern Spain on May 11 to help save a whale stranded on the shoreline. According to El País, three attempts were made over 11 hours to return the animal to the sea, but it ultimately died after the attempts were aborted.
