About two weeks ago, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department received calls about a man in San Juan Capistrano who was holed up in his garage and exhibiting suicidal behavior, reports KGTV.

Video shows the deputies pull up near the home and get out of their vehicles to inspect the area.
After about a minute-and-a-half they duck for cover, as the man in the garage started firing at them.
