The Bombay High Court acquited Salman Khan of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case, on Wednesday and the actor's father Salim Khan is 'happy and relieved' with the court's decision.

Salim Khan has been quoted saying that everyone close to Salman is happy however, many, who are saying he just walked away, are oblivious to the ordeal his son had to face over the years because of this case. He stated that because of it Salman went to jail for a few days and that he has spent over 20-25 crores on the case in these 13 years.

On September 28, 2002, Salman's Land Cruiser rammed into a bakery in subrurban Mumbai. One man died and four got injured in the accident. Salman's lawyers claim that his driver Ashok Singh was driving the car at the time of the accident.
