The world’s number 3 ranked golfer, Rory McIlroy was paired with Rickie Fowler at the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina on Thursday. McIlroy, who is also the only two-time winner of the tournament encountered a strange moment with a fan, in the first round. The distraction of Thursday's round came after the group was teeing off on the 250-yard, par-3 sixth hole. A fan threw a golf ball with an ear plug attached to it. The ball fortunately didn't hit anyone. "So random," Fowler said. "The guy tried to say it was a gift. I don't know why you would give a gift of a golf ball with an earplug attached to it."
