Govinda Gives 5 Lakh To His Fan | Govinda Slap Controversy

Actor Govinda found himself in a legal soup, when he slapped a fan Santosh Rai on the sets of his film Money Hai To Honey Hai and now, the actor has offered unconditional apology and a sum of Rs. 5 lakh as compensation to Rai.
Santosh filed a complaint against the actor in February 2009 and appealed to the Bombay High Court. However, the HC dismissed the case as it was filed a year after the incident took place and it was ruled that Rai was instigated to file a complaint against the actor. Santosh then moved the Supreme Court, where the case was heard by a bench then headed by Justice T.S. Thakur.
Govinda said, “I have been asked to apologize and I have done that. I have done everything that the apex court ordered me to do. Santosh wanted me to give him respect, an unconditional apology and compensation for all the monetary loss that he has suffered over these years and i have done that."
