Law-breaking man in dinosaur costume runs amok during an air raid drill in Taiwan

KAOHSIUNG, TAIWAN — A man who has been dubbed 'Mr. Dinosaur' by Taiwanese media, was filmed running around on the street in a dinosaur costume on the day an air raid drill was taking place in southern Taiwan on April 21.

The 29-year-old bubble tea shop employee, surnamed Kao, said he has wanted to be a dinosaur ever since he was a child. He bought his dinosaur costume from Taobao, a Chinese online shopping site.

Kao said during the drill, he saw an old lady walking slowly along outside, and he wanted to help her, while wearing his costume. The old lady was probably frightened by the sight of a dinosaur and ran away.

Mr. Dinosaur was later apprehended by police for violating the rules of air raid drill, which means he could be fined for up to NT$150,000.
