A new study conducted by Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska and the University of Florida has found that bed bugs prefer to seek shelter in dark red and black areas and are less likely to choose a place that is white, yellow, or green.

Bed bugs are hard to get rid of, but a new study could provide insights into how to prevent them from settling in. 

The research, conducted by Union College and the University of Florida, has found that the insects have color preferences. 

For the experiment, researchers put paper shelters of various hues in a petri dish and watched as a bed bug chose its preferred hiding place.
