Dennis Hastert sued for remaining $1.8 million in 2010 hush-money arrangement

Former U.S. House speaker Dennis Hastert is being sued by so-called Individual A for breach of contract stemming from a 2010 hush-money arrangement in which Hastert was ordered to pay the former a grand total of $3.5 million.
"James Doe," as he's identified in the lawsuit, is seeking the remaining $1.8 million Hastert promised to pay him six years ago.
The complaint alleges Hastert agreed to pay the full amount in exchange for Individual A giving up "any right to sue for personal injuries or seek any public acknowledgement” of sexual misconduct.
