Teenager dies from electrocution trying to copy YouTube experiment

VERMILLION TOWNSHIP, OHIO — A 15-year-old Ohio boy died of electrocution on Tuesday when he tried to recreate a science experiment he saw on YouTube.
Paramedics treated Morgan Wojciechowski at the scene of the accident, but he was later pronounced dead in the hospital, the New York Post reported.
Wojciechowski was trying to make a Jacob's Ladder, in which a high-voltage arc of electricity travels upwards between two points.
It is unknown which video Wojciechowski saw on YouTube before trying to copy the experiment, an Erie County Sheriff's Office official told the Daily Mail.
The boy's parents were at home and were aware of his plan to make a Jacob's Ladder in the garage, the official told the Daily Mail.
There are many examples of the experiment on YouTube, with several uploaders warning it is dangerous. The experiment carries the risk of electrocution if any part is touched when electricity is emitted.
Wojciechowski's family found his body in the garage after they heard a lot of noise, the official told the Daily Mail.
Writing on Facebook, teachers described Wojciechowski as a vibrant student and athlete, who was well-liked at school.
