Kayaker's Extremely Close Encounter With Whale in Vancouver Bay

A kayaker’s seriously close encounter with a whale in Vancouver’s English Bay was captured in this video uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday, April 12. The kayaker and a friend were paddling near Jericho Beach in the hope of spotting a humpback whale that had been seen in the area over previous days, according to a media report.However, the intrepid pair got a lot closer than they expected when the whale broke the surface near their boats and dived right below one of their kayaks, giving a close-up of its massive tail fin on the way down.
