Libertarian Party presidential hopeful Gary Johnson says he believes legalizing marijuana makes the world a better place, has been advocating for legalization since 1999, and is still the highest elected official to do so. He says it it would compete with opioids and antidepressants, will lead to less overall substance abuse, and is much safer than everything out there, including alcohol. He adds that it would save money for law enforcement, court, and prisons.
