Girl Scouts Sell Cookies and now Build Basketball Courts!
Girl Scouts are on a mission to make the world a better place. 16-year-old, Claire Dundee's, latest project has done just that. In search of a project to complete for her final and highest honor as a Girl Scout, the Girl Scout Gold Award, Claire wanted to do something that really made an impact on lives.

When learning about a local domestic violence shelter, and the fact that most kids living there can't go outside for security reasons, she decided that she was going to something special for them. Door of Hope is a transitional apartment complex for women and children who have been left homeless as a result of domestic violence. The 18 children who reside there rarely play outside the complex, but now they can... thanks to Claire! She raised enough money to build a basketball court on the secluded front yard of the complex. She even helped build it. This court is their private refuge, their daily release, a place one can play in safety!
