Tennessee passes highly criticized anti-LGBT counseling bill

Tennessee lawmakers passed a bill on Monday that could restrict access to mental health treatment for LGBT individuals.
The bill, which is backed by theGOP, allows therapists and counselors to reject patients they feel would violate "sincerely held principles."
It now heads to theGov. Bill Haslam for approval.
Gay rights and mental health advocacygroups have spoken out against the controversial bill, urging Haslam to veto it.Tennessee would become the only state with that particular law, only if the governor signs and reads the final version and he's said that's the only way it will occur. North Carolina andMississippi are two states who have also passed similar discriminatory legislation over the last week.
