A 17-year-old girl was kayaking with her mother near Tarpon Springs, Florida on Sunday evening when their outing took a dramatic turn.
The girl’s vessel got caught in the wake of a passing boat. As the teen had lost her paddle, she was unable to steer herself back on course.
Upon being notified that she’d disappeared, the U.S. Coast Guard sent a team to search the area from both the air and the surface.
