BARRINGTON LEVY live @ Main Stage 2012

Barrington Levy is one of the most popular reggae singers ever, who proves his presence and expressiveness with a number of impressive successes in the seventies.
His potent beginnings can be found on the albums 'Bounty hunter', produced by the emergent Junior Lawes. His following single 'Collie weed' makes him become a popular singer with a style that on the one hand keeps the tradition of reinterpreting Bob Andy or Jacob Miller and on the other hand innovates in order to create what would be the typical dancehall style for the singers.
Crucial moments of an extraordinary creative climax are great songs like 'English man', 'Shine eye gal', 'Hunter man', 'Crucifixion', 'Money move', 'Black rose' and 'Shaolin temple'.
In the middle of the eighties, Barrington records the biggest successes of his life for Jah Screw: 'Here I come' and 'Under my sensi'. His series of successes continues until the nineties when he skillfully re-interpretes his most potent hits with the hottest DJs of the time like Beenie Man und Bounty Killer.
His recent releases show that in an optimal way, keeping a high standard as usual.
