Heroin 'safe zones': Coming to the United States?

Major U.S. cities are proposing supervised heroin injection facilities in an effort to get addicts off the street and into treatment.
The consideration comes in the wake of a record spike in deaths from opioid drug overdoses.
More than 47,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, most due to opioid pain relievers and heroin, in 2014, According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Some opponents say this idea only encourages addition, and it’s illegal.
