Five top female players accuse U.S. soccer of pay discrimination

Five key members of the world champion U.S. women’s national soccer team accused the U.S. Soccer Federation of wage discrimination in a federal complaint revealed on Thursday.
The complaint says despite the team generating almost $20 million more revenue last year than the U.S. men’s team, the women are paid almost four times less.
The players involved in the complaint are among the most prominent and decorated female athletes in the world, including Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan and Hope Solo.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will conduct an investigation and decide if the results justify compensation to the U.S. women’s team.
