Shocking footage has emerged from China of opportunistic villagers allegedly looting a lorry after it caught fire on a motorway.

The footage, captured in Ji'an, Jiangxi Province last Sunday, shows firefighters trying to extinguish the blaze.

Later in the video, a large number of people can also be seen apparently grabbing household appliances from the smouldering wreck.

According to local reports, when the huge fire was finally put out by firefighters, villagers came and took the goods.

No injuries were reported.
