JAISALMER – Indian police detained 35 Pakistani nationals including women in the Rajasthan state for having incomplete documents, the Indian media reported on Saturday.

According to the reports, the Pakistani nationals – who entered India through the Thar Desert via Munabav, have visa for Mathura and Haridwar, but they visited Ramdevra. The Indian authorities claimed that they have visa for Mathura and Haridwar but not for Ramdevra.

The apprehended persons belong to Umerkot, Mirpur Khas and Tharparkar of Sindh province. Pakistani High Commission said that they were obtaining details of detained Pakistani nationals. The detained men were planning to visit the Baba Ramdev Temple where the Samadhi of Baba Ramdev stands. It is reported that these people belong to Amarkot, Mirpur Khas and Tharparkar of Sindh province in Pakistan.

The arrests took place a day after Pakistan protested to India after capturing a man suspected of being an Indian spy, sparking a new diplomatic tiff between the neighbours. The man belonging to India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) intelligence agency was arrested during a raid in the southwestern province of Balochistan.

A Foreign Ministry statement described the incident as the illegal entry into Pakistan by a RAW officer and his involvement in subversive activities in Balochistan and Karachi. It said that the Indian high commissioner had been summoned by the foreign secretary so he could convey his protest and deep concern.
