Brazilian hitman's execution attempt fails 3 times from point blank range

ARAGUAPAZ, BRAZIL — A shop owner in Araguapaz, Central Brazil is lucky to be alive, after a series of failed attempts on his life.

Footage caught on security camera and released by CCTV shows Jaire Nato Gonzalo de Sousa routinely setting up his shop one morning. He's quite literally minding his own business, when all of a sudden, his would-be assassin surprises him, firing one shot at his head.

In the video, it appears the gun didn't go off as planned, leading de Sousa to panic and plead for his life. The gunman then fires another bullet, but he only grazes the side of his head this time. De Souza backs away, grabbing some cardboard in a desperate attempt to shield himself. The attacker comes at him once again, and this time manages to shoot de Souza in the stomach, through the cardboard, but that's where the execution attempt ended.

The 35-year-old de Souza was rushed to hospital, but doctors treating him report he's out of danger.

Meanwhile, this footage has helped police identify his lame hitman, who reportedly has been on the run from a murder he committed last year.
